Hui Xian REIT's assets include:

1. Its investment in Hui Xian (B.V.I.) Limited, which in turn holds Hui Xian Investment Limited, the foreign joint venture partner of Beijing Oriental Plaza Co., Ltd., ("BOP") which is a sino-foreign cooperative joint venture established in the PRC. BOP holds the land use right and building ownership rights of Beijing Oriental Plaza,

 

2. Its investment in Chongqing Overseas Investment Limited, which holds Chongqing Investment Limited. Chongqing Investment Limited owns the entire interest in the Chongqing Metropolitan Oriental Plaza Co., Ltd, which is the registered legal owner of the land use rights and building ownership rights of Chongqing Metropolitan Oriental Plaza

 

3. Its investment in Shenyang Investment (BVI) Limited, which in turn holds Shenyang Investment (Hong Kong) Limited (“Shenyang Investment HK”), the foreign joint venture partner of Shenyang Lido Business Co. Ltd (“Shenyang Lido”). Shenyang Investment HK is entitled to 70% interests in Shenyang Lido, which is a sino-foreign cooperative joint venture established in the PRC. Shenyang Lido holds the land use rights and building ownership rights in The Westin Shenyang,

 

4. Its investment in Chongqing Hotel Investment Limited, which in turn holds Highsmith (HK) Limited. Highsmith (HK) Limited owns the entire interest in the Chongqing Oriental Plaza Metropolitan Hotel Co. Ltd., which is the registered legal owner of the land use rights and building ownership rights of Hyatt Regency Metropolitan Chongqing, and

 

5. Its investment in New Sense Resources Limited, which in turn holds Chengdu Investment Limited, the foreign joint venture partner of Chengdu Changtian Co., Ltd., (“Chengdu Changtian”). Chengdu Investment Limited is entitled to 69% interests in Chengdu Changtian, which is a sino-foreign cooperative joint venture established in the PRC. Chengdu Changtian holds the land use rights and building ownership rights in Sheraton Chengdu Lido Hotel.

 

BEIJING ORIENTAL PLAZA

Beijing Oriental Plaza is one of the largest and most iconic commercial complexes in the PRC. It was designed by the world renowned architectural firm, Palmer & Turner.

It is strategically located at No.1 East Chang’an Avenue, the political and commercial heart of Beijing, the capital of the PRC. Within Wangfujing district and the Second Ring Road, Beijing Oriental Plaza is in a unique position in Beijing. The location is one which is unprecedented for a large scale commercial development in the PRC.

Beijing Oriental Plaza enjoys a high flow of visitors from Wangfujing/ East Chang’an Avenue, a major shopping destination location in Beijing. Within the Second Ring Road, the development is very close to a number of Beijing landmarks and adjacent to a number of important government departments.

Beijing Oriental Plaza is very easily accessible and is well connected by the public transportation network which links the city. It has access to Line 1 and Line 5 of the Beijing subway lines, and is directly connected to the subway station. It will have access to the future Line 8. In addition, Beijing Oriental Plaza is also served by over 30 bus routes.

Developed on a plot of land with a total area of approximately 100,000 sq m, Beijing Oriental Plaza has a total Gross Floor Area of approximately 800,000 sq m.

In recognition of its excellent construction and engineering, Beijing Oriental Plaza was awarded the PRC Construction Engineering Luban Award (National Outstanding Engineering) by the Ministry of Construction of the PRC and the China Construction Industry Association in 2002, the Zhan Tianyou Civil Engineering Award by the State Technology Reward Office, as well as the Best Chinese Development and the Best Chinese Property in the Bentley International Property Awards in 2004.

As a mixed use commercial development, Beijing Oriental Plaza comprises the following components:

  • The Malls - a world-class shopping centre;
  • The Tower Offices - eight Grade A office buildings;
  • The Tower Apartments - four serviced apartment towers;
  • Grand Hyatt Beijing - a five-star hotel with 598 guest rooms;
  • A car park - approximately 1,900 carparking spaces

The components together reflect the “World within a World” concept of Beijing Oriental Plaza and create a self-contained community. The synergy created by the four components — The Malls, The Tower Offices, The Tower Apartments and Grand Hyatt Beijing — helps to propel overall rental and occupancy rates for each component.
